Living the Good News
Living the Good News is a curriculum based on the Common Lectionary – the lessons read each Sunday in church. This means that in class Sunday mornings, children hear the same story as is heard in Church that day. LGN emphasizes the heritage of the Episcopal Church, the sacraments, and the Prayer Book and also emphasizes the liturgical seasons of the year. It is based on scripture, tradition, and reason. A goal of Living the Good News is discovering God in the liturgy and symbols of the church as well as in the people of God.
Each Sunday the children go deeper into the Scripture story of the day through activities such as crafts, games, skits, Bible study, and prayer. They join the congregation in church at the Peace for Eucharist.
