Welcome Fr. Raul!
The Rev. Raul E. Ausa is delighted to be accepting the call to serve as Trinity Church’s next Priest in Charge. He will be joining the community this summer upon his return from New Haven, Connecticut where he has recently graduated from Berkeley Divinity School at Yale and will be joined by his partner, Sierra, his mother, Laura, and their 9 year-old bulldog, Maggie.
Fr. Raul was born in Montevideo, Uruguay and grew up in West Orange, NJ. He attended Seton Hall University where he studied religion and social work. Afterwards, he worked as an investigator for the NJ Department of Children and Families before attending seminary. Having trained and served as seminarian intern and deacon at a number of parishes and communities in New Jersey and Connecticut, Fr. Raul has developed a love and passion for liturgy, social justice ministry, and pastoral care, which he is eager to bring to this new position. He is a member of the Society of Catholic Priests (SCP), an organization of Anglican clergy in the US, Canada, and the UK dedicated to fostering Anglian spirituality through its ancient spiritual, theological, and liturgical traditions. Fr. Raul is incredibly excited to be taking on his first cure and embarking on this new journey with the people of Trinity Church.
